About Us

Our beginnings:

The beginning of Gloryland Baptist Church was born in the hearts of approximately 20 families on February 7, 1971.  Fifty persons attended the first service in a frame house located off I-85.

On March 14, 1971, a special service was held for the purpose of constituting a Baptist Church.  Thus the church was organized and become Gloryland Baptist Church.

After much prayer and seeking the Lord's will, a door was opened to purchase a church building and five acres of land.  On July 23, 1972, under the leadership of Rev. A.V. Rippy, the church purchased Epworth Lane Methodist Church for the sum of $50,000.

As the Lord blessed and the church grew in membership, more room was needed.  God provided the way for the need to be met and a new sanctuary was added which would seat 300 people in 1973.

Reverend Samuel E. Case began serving as Pastor in 1973 and is still serving today.  Rev. Case's son Joshua was the first baby born under this Pastorate and is currently serving as teacher and theologian.

The history of Gloryland testifies that "surely the Lord has been in this Place."
